ABOUT ON-LINE TICKET PURCHASE FOR DOMESTIC TRIPS

Dear Customer,

This guide is aimed at making it easier for you to purchase your ticket. Please read the following carefully to make sure that you learn about all of the available options and conditions.

Ticket

Tickets for seats in Volánbusz coaches departing from or arriving at the Népliget, Stadion and Árpád bridge coach stations can be purchased online.

The steps of purchasing your ticket

  1. Select the destination. Enter the type of the trip (one-way or a round trip), the date of departure to and the date of departure that of the trip back. Use the calendar function.
  2. Select the ticket data. Enter the number of tickets you want to purchase. Please read the information on available discounts.
  3. Select the service you wish to use.
  4. Mark the seat of your choice on the diagram.
  5. Enter your e-mail address.
  6. Check the data you have entered and make corrections if necessary.
  7. Read and click to accept the conditions of travelling.
  8. Enter the requested data on CIB Bank’s homepage (card number, expiry date, CVC code).
  9. Having paid the fare you receive confirmation in your post box, with the booking ID required for your trip (secret reference code).
  10. You will find a pdf document attached to your e-mail message which contains your ticket(s). Please print the pdf document in one copy and, if you have purchased more than one ticket, separate the tickets as marked. Tickets to and from the destination are presented separately. The printed ticket must be handed over to the coach driver for validation.

Discounts

A 50% discount is available for full time students and those taking evening courses until the end of their secondary school studies to any destination along with those studying in correspondent courses between their schools and places of residence until the end of their secondary school studies as well as students in tertiary education between their schools and places of residence, holders of the Certificate of Hungarian Nationality and Certificate for Dependants of Persons of Hungarian Nationality as well as those holding pensioner travelling vouchers. A 90% discount is available for passengers having pensioner travelling voucher (with two 50 % or one 90 % stamp), blind passengers or passengers with visual impairment as well as those participating in vocational retraining courses subsidised by the labour centre (between the place of training and the place of residence) on the basis of the certificate issued by the labour centre, as well as children with special education needs with up to two persons accompanying them, people living in or attending social institutions, as well as their visitors, children who are recipients of higher amounts of family allowance and persons with severe disabilities as specified in Act XXVI of 1998.Please note that the certificates proving eligibility to the discount must be presented when boarding the coach and our coach drivers check the entitlement to the discount. If eligibility is not adequately confirmed, the ticket to which the passenger is actually entitled must be purchased from the coach driver.

The trip

Tickets purchased on-line are validated by the coach driver right before departure. Tickets must be kept until the end of the trip, in case they are checked by the company’s inspectors. Passengers with tickets purchased on-line should board the coach at least 15 minutes before the time of departure otherwise the reserved seat may be taken by another passenger.

Returning your ticket

You may return your ticket - specifying the booking ID - at any of the company’s ticket offices where tickets can be purchased in advance before departure time.

  • If the ticket is returned before the service’s departure a 20 % handling charge is subtracted from its price. Based on the passenger’s request for returning the ticket the company takes the ticket back and refunds the amount remaining after the subtraction of the handling cost by transferring it to the customer’s account.
  • Tickets cannot be returned after the service’s departure.

If a ticket for which receipt was issued is to be returned, the receipt should also be presented upon returning the ticket, otherwise we cannot refund its price.

Changing a ticket

A ticket purchased on-line is valid only for the service for which it was purchased, it cannot be used for any earlier or subsequent service. Such tickets cannot be modified. If you intend to change your ticket you have to purchase another one and you can return your earlier purchased ticket in accordance with the rules on returning tickets.

If you need a receipt

By presenting your ‘on-line ticket’ you can request a receipt in any of the company’s ticket offices where tickets can be purchased in advance before departure time.

Passenger insurance

Just like the tickets purchased at our ticket offices in person, the tickets purchased on-line also provide passenger insurance coverage.Thank you for reading our passenger information!
