Wearing a face mask is mandatory in public transport

On account of the coronavirus pandemic, the Government of Hungary declared a state of emergency on 11 March 2020 to prevent mass infections threatening the safety of human life and property. This decision has had a serious effect on public transport in Hungary.

 

Passengers who do not wear or wear incorrectly their mask while using public transport services are subject to fine on the spot in the amount of HUF 8,000 and can be even exempted from travel.
